I believe the Gear Sport has that ability, but the S3 technically isn't "waterproof" so I don't think Samsung wants to encourage people swimming with it. I do both and also spend a lot of time in my hot tub - it's no problem for the S3 :) I have showered with mine quite a few times with no issue. Just rinse all the soap off.
